Patients shouldn’t be left in the dark with their healthcare bills.

Thanks to MultiPlan, out-of-network healthcare charges are reduced fairly and efficiently.

The U.S. healthcare system is complicated and opaque. Navigating healthcare can be quite difficult and costly for patients. This is why MultiPlan is dedicated to helping patients by offering a wide variety of out-of-network solutions for providers, payors, and employers – all of which help make it easy to price out-of-network healthcare bills.

Without MultiPlan, patients are left to deal with healthcare prices that are sometimes 3-4 times more costly than in-network rates.

This is where our mission begins and how we help by:

We are undoubtedly making an impact in the U.S. healthcare system. Here’s the proof.

In 2023, we identified $22.9 billion in potential savings on $168.6 billion in claim charges. Specifically, we priced 15.4 million out-of-network claims. That means savings for millions of American patients ($900 per claim on average.) And with an overwhelming 98% provider acceptance rate, it is clear that what we are doing is working.

Eliminating balance bills for patients – two patient journeys.

Patient A

Treated for: respiratory infection
Treated at: local in-network hospital

The in-network commercial pricing for patient A was $33,644.

Result: There were no balance bills for the patient because of the contracted agreement with the in-network provider.

Patient B

Treated for: respiratory infection
Treated at: local out-of-network hospital

The out-of-network commercial pricing for Patient B was $77,792.

Result: By analyzing the out-of-network claim, MultiPlan recommended a fair and reasonable reimbursement amount of $36,696, which was accepted by the provider.

(Note: The potential balance bill difference of $41,096 was not sent to patient because of MultiPlan’s involvement.)
